Maruti Suzuki is soon going to launch a mid-life update for the Vitara Brezza sub-4-meter compact SUV. This vehicle has been on sale in India for over three years now. And it continues the lead the segment with a healthy margin. This is despite the fact that the Brezza is currently available with just a diesel engine in its line-up.
According to a recent report published in Carwale, Maruti Suzuki has already commenced the production of the 2019 iteration of the Vitara Brezza. The report further states that close to 3,000 units of this vehicle have already been manufactured.
The 2019 Maruti Vitara Brezza is going to launch with a number of changes. On the outside, the front as well as the rear fascia of the vehicle is going to get a number of changes. These include an all-new design for the front bumper, new grille, revised rear bumper and redesign tail-lamps. Other changed include the inclusion of LED projector headlamps and interestingly, an air-intake scoop on the bonnet.
As is the case with most of the facelifts, the interiors of the Maruti Vitara Brezza are likely to remain the same as before. Though, there are chances that it may get some additional features. For instance, Maruti will change the current infotainment system for a new one, the same unit which made its debut with the 2019 Maruti Wagon R.
With this facelift, Maruti Suzuki is likely to introduce a new 1.5-litre diesel engine in the Vitara Brezza. This engine has been developed in-house by the carmaker. It is capable of churning out 94 BHP of power along with 225 Nm of peak torque. It is going to be mated with a 6-speed manual transmission.
There have been speculations that the Vitara Brezza might get a new petrol engine added to its line-up. And that this engine could be the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder boosterjet motor borrowed from the Baleno RS.
